The excited singer who won the Headies ‘Next Rated’ category, took to her Instagram page to share a video from her graduation with the caption;

Had to sing to traditional Ondo song. Iyo meyo leun o San o kan mi o e. Because I’m happy for others, I too shall celebrate.

The singer made headlines few months ago, after she announced that she wrote Davido’s ‘Like Dat’ and it was going to be a monster hit. Her tweet read;

A song I wrote for @iam_Davido drops tommorow!! S/O to OBO for giving young writers like my self a chance!! I can’t wait for y’all to hear “Like Dat” Another Monster Hit

When Teni broke the news on Twitter, people came for her with the mentality that it’s not okay for her to announce that she wrote a song she was paid for. This was a common misconception, as musicians like Frank Ocean, Ne-Yo and The Dream are popular for being songwriters for some of the biggest artists in the world.

Born Teniola Apata, Teni Entertainer is one of Nigeria’s fastest rising musicians breaking new grounds in the music industry. Her sojourn in music began at age of two in the school band and since then, she has made several appearances, rocked many stages and wowed the crowd both locally and internationally performing for top dignitaries and at sold out concerts. Her stage craft has always got people talking.

Teni however kickstarted her career in 2016 when she got signed to Magic Fingers Records owned by one of Nigeria’s most talented producers and serial hit maker, Shizzi. She is however now signed to Dr Doloro Entertainment.
