Real Madrid Player Tests Positive For COVID-19
Radio programme ‘Onda Cero’ and ‘Cadena COPE’ reported a player from the first team has tested positive, stating he will not play against Manchester City and is already isolated. The club has now confirmed the player is Mariano.
After the scandal in Fuenlabrada, it seems that they are not the only ones affected by the second wave of coronavirus that keeps growing in the Spanish territory.
On Tuesday morning, it was leaked that one of tests performed on Real Madrid players had returned positive for COVID-19. The club has since confirmed the player in question Mariano.
Always according to these sources – ‘Onda Cero’ and ‘Cadena COPE’ – the player in question did not train in this Tuesday’s session and is isolated in his house.

The footballer will not be able to be in the qualifying round against Manchester City of the Champions League, in which Zidane’s team will try to overcome the 1-2 achieved by Pep Guardiola’s team in the Santiago Bernabéu.
The match had already been called into question because the recent increase in COVID-19 cases on Spanish soil. The United Kingdom imposed a mandatory quarantine on all travelers from Spain, but finally turned a blind eye to top-level athletes.
After the news broke, the team confirmed that Mariano was the player who had tested positive. Los Blancos were quick to confirm that he was in good health and at home.
“After the COVID-19 tests carried out individually on our first football team by Real Madrid’s Medical Services, our player Mariano has given a positive result. The player is in perfect health and is following the health protocol of isolation at home,” reads the statement from Real Madrid.
