The 32-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper had earlier today announced his retirement from football after making 274 domestic career appearances in all competitions, with over 200 of them coming for Wolves, the club he joined in 2000 as a 14-year-old.
Carl Ikeme missed out of Russia 2018 world cup due to a battle with Leukemia which he recently recovered from. He however decided to retire from football due to doctor’s advice. He said, “the doctor suggested I should retire after the toll the treatment has taken on my body.”
